Day 01: arrive in Kunming which is reputed as "Spring City" because of the pleasant climate all year round and big variety of flowers, city tour, visiting the East and West Temple Pagodas which were built during the 9th century; Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archways which are among the landmarks of Kunming city; pedestrian commercial street and local market.(overnight: 4-star hotel)


Day 02: one day tour of Stone Forest (90 kms away, 1.5 hrs' drive) which is a world natural heritage site and world geological park with amazing karst limestone landform, in the meantime, visit local villages and meet the local Yi ethnic minority people there.


Day 03: take morning flight to Shangri-La (50 minutes), a Tibetan-inhabited area which was described in the novel - "Lost Horizon" by James Hilton as Shangri-la and after studies by many experts, hence the former Zhongdian was renamed Shangri-la, visit Bitahai Lake, and Songzanlin Tibetan Buddhist Temple. Day 04: fly to Lhasa (1.5 hrs), capital of Tibet; meet at airport, where the altitude is 3,650 meters above sea level, city tour, visiting the Great Nietang Buddha which was bulit in 11th century.(O/N: 4-star hotel)


Day 05: visit the magnificent Potala Palace (3 hrs) which served as the residence of the Dalai Lamas, and thus it was the center of both politics and religion in Tibet, the palace complex took more than 7,000 laborers and 1,500 artists more than fifty years to complete, then visit Sera Monastery.


Day 06: visit Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple which is the spiritual center of Tibet attracting millions of Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims from afar, and Barkhor Street which is the main commercial area for Tibetans.


Day 07: drive to Gyangtse (270 kms, 5.5 hrs)), en route, visit Yamdrok Lake, one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, after arrival, visit Kumbum Temple which is a spectacular stupa temple, whose name means "Place of 100 Thousand Images", the great stupa is consisted of 9 tiers and it is over 32 meters high with more than 77 chapels, shrines and chortens.(O/N: 3-star hotel)


Day 08: drive to Shigatse (98 km, 1.5 hrs), transfer to hotel; visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, residence of Panchen Lama and it occupies an area of 150,000 square meters with its wall of over 3,000 meters long and built according to the topography of the mountain, the temple boasts of 57 buildings with more than 3,600 rooms. Day 09: drive back to Lhasa, free time on your own for the rest of the day.(O/N: 4-star hotel)


Day 10: visit Norbulingka - the Summer Palace for Dailai Lama, then fly to Kunming via Shangri-la.(O/N: 4-star hotel)


Day 11: visit Western Hills which is a forest park, a place to pay pilgrimages to Taoist gods and Buddhas and have a bird's eye view of Kunming and Dianchi Lake, then visit Golden Temple which is a Taoist temple and is famous for a 250-ton bronze temple (the heaviest in China) and a 18-ton bronze bell (the third heaviest in China).


Day 12: depart for home
