Day 01: arrive in Kunming which is reputed as "Spring City" because of the pleasant climate all year round and big variety of flowers, city tour, visiting the East and West Temple Pagodas which were built during the 9th century; Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archways which are among the landmarks of Kunming city; pedestrian commercial street and local market.
Day 02: one day tour of Stone Forest (90 kms away, 1.5 hrs' drive) which is a world natural heritage site and world geological park with amazing karst limestone landform, in the meantime, visit local villages and meet the local Yi ethnic minority people there.
Day 03: visit Western Hills which is a forest park, a place to pay pilgrimages to Taoist gods and Buddhas and have a bird's eye view of Kunming and Dianchi Lake, then visit Golden Temple which is a Taoist temple and is famous for a 250-ton bronze temple (the heaviest in China) and a 18-ton bronze bell (the third heaviest in China).
Day 04: fly to Beijing (3 hrs), capital and cultural center of China, visit Tiananmen Square which is the largest city center square in the world, it stretches 880 meters from the north to the south and 500 meters from the east to the west, covering a total area of 440,000 square meters; the Forbidden City which is a former imperial palace, popularly known as the Palace Musuem, and Temple of Heaven, a place to pray for good harvest in Ming and Qing dynasties.
Day 05: visit the Great Wall which is one of the "Eight Wonders of the World" and a world heritage site, the great wall was built to keep out invaders and it spans five provinces (6,700 kilometers long), then visit Summer Palace which was formerly the imperial summer retreat.
Day 06: fly to Xi'an (2 hrs) which is reputed as "Cradle of Ancient Chinese Civilization" and was capital for 13 dynasties in Chinese history, visit Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses which is praised as the "Eighth Major Miracle of the World" with life-sized terra cotta figures of warriors and horses arranged in battle formations.
Day 07: visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a Buddhist shrine, the Shaanxi Historical Museum, Old City Wall which is the only most well-preserved city wall in China, Drum Tower which was built in 1380 and overlooks the city.
Day 08: fly to Shanghai (2 hrs), visit the bund where you can find clusters of modern buildings as well as grand buildings in the European architectural styles of the nineteen twenties, thirties and early forties, Yu Garden, Jade Buddha Temple.
Day 09: visit Oriental Pearl TV Tower which is one of the landmarks of Shanghai city and it stands beside the Huangpu River with a height of 468 meters, which is the tallest TV tower in Asia and the third tallest in the world, then visit Shanghai Museum and Pedestrian Street-"Nanjing Road" which is reputed as "No. 1 commercial street in China, after that, depart
